Midget AA Ice Kats move on to 2nd Round

The Peterborough Midget AA Ice Kats eliminated the Clarington Flames from the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League East Division Playoffs, posting two consecutive wins.

The Ice Kats traveled to South Courtice Arena on Saturday evening for Game 1, earning a 2-1 victory.  Charlotte Porter and Hannah Kawalec scored in the first period, with assists from Taylor Richmond and Amanda Willis.  
The Midget AA’s hosted Clarington at the Evinrude Centre on Sunday night for Game 2.  Peterborough scored 3 goals in the last 5 minutes of play, registering a 3-0 win.  Peterborough goals were scored by Taylor Richmond, Amanda Willis and Hannah Kawalec, with assists by Julia Defosse, Charlotte Porter, Kawalec and Ava Flint (2).  Maddy Roche earned the shutout for Peterborough.
Peterborough’s second round opponent has not yet been determined.
