The Intermediate A Ice Kats have started 2020 on a high note winning the gold medal in the 2020 Scarborough Sharks New Year’s Classic tournament. The Ice Kats lost their first round robin game to Durham West by a score of 1-0. However, that would be their only loss of the weekend as they would go on to defeat Oshawa by a score of 4-1 and North York Storm by a score of 8-1. Their round robin record secured a place in the semi finals against Lakeshore Lightning, a team the Ice Kats have not faced this season.
