Atom BB, U11, 2017-2018 (Peterborough Girls Hockey Association)

At the largest women's hockey tournament, the Atom BB Ice Kats battled hard through round robin play.  They started the tournament with a solid 4-0 win against North Halton.  After a tough loss against Aurora during game 2, the girls regrouped and won against Etobicoke to move on to the semi-finals on Easter Sunday.  An early morning game didn't stop these girls from working together and winning 2-1 against Oakville.  At the finals, the Ice Kats faced the Orangeville Tigers.  They pulled out a 3-1 win and brought home the gold!  Everyone is super proud of the hard work and dedication you have ...

What a way to start off the new year!  The Atom BB team had a slow start in the tournament during round robin play.  However, they knew when to turn it on and be aggressive!  With a 3-0 win against the Aurora Panthers in the semi-finals, we were ready to take on the Burlington Barracudas in the Gold Medal game.  After the zamboni breaking down, changing arenas, playing 2 periods of the game and then moving to another ice pad, the girls held onto their 2-1 lead to bring home the gold medal. Amazing weekend at the Cornwall tournament!  The girls played well in round robin games.  They had a chance to do some team bonding on Saturday with bowling, a pizza party and trick or treating at the hotel.  On Sunday morning it was back to business.  The girls won in the semi-final game against Springfield with a score of 2-1.  They worked hard and it paid off in the finals against Smith Falls who they had previously lost to in round robin play.  The girls won the gold medal with a final score of 1-0.  We are so proud of you!  Way to go Ice Kats!!

Amazing work this weekend at the Oshawa Tournament!  The girls played hard and managed to secure a spot in the semi-finals.  They won the semi-finals 3-0, playing well together and encouraging one another.  The final game against Cornwall ended in a 1-1 tie.  It remained a tie after a five minute overtime period.  The game was decided in a shootout.  We proudly came home with the Silver medal.  Way to go girls!
