Bantam AA Ice Kats win Silver medal
Peterborough Bantam AA Ice Kats win Silver medal in Rochester, NY
The Peterborough Bantam AA Ice Kats traveled to Rochester, NY over the weekend to compete in the "Fire on Ice" girls hockey tournament
In preliminary play, the Ice Kats lost 3-1 to the Aurora Panthers, won 3-0 over the Anaheim Lady Ducks and defeated the Buffalo Bisons 5-2.
In quarter-final play the Ice Kats faced Aurora again and pulled out a 2-1 come-from-behind win.
The girls faced the Buffalo Regals in the Semi-finals on Sunday morning, and qualified for the finals with a 3-1 win.
The Bantam AA Ice Kats played the Brock Jr. Badgers for the gold medal Sunday afternoon and were awarded the silver medal after losing 2-1 in a hard-fought match.
Head Coach Mark McArthur was very pleased with how the team represented the City of Peterborough on and off the ice.
