Sports are about those unforgettable moments where sheer will and determination overcome the odds.  These are the moments we remember... And the Atom A Ice Kats demonstrated one of these moments over the weekend during the 36th Annual Peterborough Ice Kats Tournament.  Through heart, determination, perseverance, grit, teamwork and DESIRE the girls came away victorious with the GOLD medal. The Atom A Ice Kats had a great weekend of hockey, coming away with two wins!   The girls have been working very hard at practices and games.   This weekend was a great example of how hard work and dedication can shine through!   The girls beat the Aurora Panthers on Saturday with a 5-2 win.  On Sunday, they came away with a 4-1 win over Kingston, who is 2nd in the East Division!  Way to go girls!  It's great to see the team moving the puck well, getting to the net, fore-checking and back-checking hard and putting the puck past the goalie!   Way to work as a team!  

The Atom A Ice Kats have two games this weekend, with their season home opener on Saturday October 1st at 1:00 PM vs the Markham-Stoufville Stars.  On Sunday October 2nd, the girls travel to Aurora to take on the Aurora Panthers.  The girls have been working very hard during practice and have been playing fantastic hockey in their exhibition games and tournament play.  It's been great, fast-paced, end to end action!   Looking forward to a great weekend of hockey! 

Congratulations and welcome to all the girls that made the team!  The coaching staff is looking forward to the 2016/2017 hockey season!  We hope that you have a great summer and enjoy all your summer activities; soccer, baseball, lacrosse, swimming, camping, marshmallow roasting, fishing and of course hockey for those that can't get enough of it!  We will see everyone through out the summer at some team events we have been planning.   The Coaching Staff
