Independent Safe Sport Complaint Process
The OWHA and Hockey Canada stands for safe sport that is free of maltreatment of any kind. We all play a role in creating a healthy culture that fosters safe sport practice and offers athletes, coaches and all members of the sport community strong resources in education and reporting. The presence of maltreatment in sport requires a concerted and systemic effort by a variety of different organizations and governments to come together and identify solutions and clearly define roles and responsibilities.

The OWHA and Hockey Canada's response to all allegations of maltreatment is through Hockey Canada's Independent Third Party (ITP) complaint mechanism. We encourage all individuals experiencing or witnessing maltreatment (including advocates for other people) to communicate with the ITP. For more information on the ITP, including information for complaint submission, complainants, respondents, as well as policies and processes; please visit https://sportcomplaints.ca/ or click the logo, below.

OWHA and Hockey Canada are committed to creating a safe environment free from all forms of maltreatment. We all have a role to play in fostering a healthy culture that promotes safe sport and provides athletes, coaches, and the entire sport community with excellent education, training, and reporting resources. Combating maltreatment in sport requires a concerted and widespread effort by various organizations and levels of government, with the goal of developing collective solutions and clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder.

The OWHA and Hockey Canada's response to any allegations of maltreatment is through Hockey Canada's independent third-party complaint mechanism. We recommend that all individuals experiencing or witnessing maltreatment (including those advocating for others) contact the independent third-party. For more information about the independent third-party, including how to file a complaint, complainants, respondents, and policies and procedures, visit https://sportcomplaints.ca/en/ or click on the logo below.
