A few words from the U9B Coaches and staff…
From barely being able to skate backwards, to backwards crossovers. From knowing nothing about hockey positions, to solid D-zone coverage and breakouts. These girls all grew an incredible amount on the ice this season.
They came to the rink every game and practiced with their work boots on, a positive attitude, and ready to learn. We couldn't be prouder of how hard these girls worked to lay their foundation of hockey knowledge and development.
It has been a privilege to work with these kids and their families this season. The supportive environment we’ve been working and coaching in has been present right from our first team meeting in May. They play for each other, encourage each other, and try their best for each other. But most importantly, they enjoy spending time with each other. They shared the joy of their first full ice win, and the disappointment of just missing a semi-finals in a tournament.
It has been a season of great growth and development, both as players and people. They all have an incredibly bright future in this game we all love! We can't wait to continue to watch these girls grow as people and hockey players. The future of PGHA hockey is very promising with this group coming up.
