U13 - Team 1 Blue Devils - Welcome and key info
Hey Parents;

Coach Pete here.  I hope the girls are really excited, I know I am.
My head trainer is Martha Bearcroft and if in a pinch, Ashleigh Leahey will be helping out as well.  These are two great ladies, and I can't wait to get going.

Your responsibilities this year as parents will be greater than usual but not too bad with all things being equal.

Here are the key items you have to know......

These rules are not meant to be harsh, or mean spirited at all, so please don't take them that way.  I'm very heavily involved in the Boys association as my son plays there. I've already been through the COVID protocols in depth and the developing issues that have come up along the way.  There is ZERO room for negotiation in terms of the policies and procedures.  If we are lackadaisical or wishy washy, we will get shut down and nobody wants that.  I absolutely love doing this and the girls are going to have a great time!

1.  COVID SCREENING - Before every ice time you must go in "the day of the ice time" and fill in the health
screening questionnaire. If your daughter is experiencing any of the symptoms, similar to school, please don't bring them.  We all want to participate and if there is an outbreak that'll increase our chances of getting "paused" or shut down!  Any questions here, before you fill in the screener that day text me to touch base....please!  We all want to be responsible but its difficult times.  I'll check before each ice time to see who has or has not filled out the screener, if not completed, you cant participate.

2.  COMING TO THE RINK - No matter what arena we're at, the doors are locked from the inside and the arena
attendants open them at exactly 10 minutes before our ice time.  EVERYONE goes in at the exact same time, players coaches and parents.  They then lock the doors and you won't be let in!  1 minute late - Sorry, not to today. You'll need to go home and return the next time we're on ice.  There aren't any one offs, "yeah but"....it's a hard no.  If you leave the building during our ice time, you wont be let back in.....its really serious.  My ask is wherever possible to be at the arena 20 minutes before we enter, ready to go!

3.  Tying Skates, Helmets etc? - Come to the rink almost completely dressed.  Everything except skates, helmet
and gloves.  The girls must be wearing "face masks" and right up until they put their helmets on. When we go into the room the girls need to be on the ice within the 10 minutes of entering the rink.  YOU can enter the room with them, and help them with the items listed but you'll notice large spacing stickers in the rooms to keep your distance, please parents don't sit on benches or mill around.  Tie skates, latch helmets and then leave the room as quickly as you can.  The two deep rule is still in effect this year where there should never be only one adult with any player at any point regardless of the gender of the adult, but bare in mind as all are coming fully dressed, the girls definitely have even a larger safe guard in place this year.  If by chance you are one of the last two adults in the room please don't leave until the other parent is ready to vacate or your replaced  by a coach.

4.  TOTAL NUMBERS ALLOWED IN - Based on government criteria we are limited to numbers of people allowed
in the arena at any one time.  At this point we are at 50.  Thats 22 on ice.  Players, coaches, trainers refs,  timekeepers and fans.  So each team has 8 players, that would be 16, for practices we can have 6 coaches/trainers on ice or on bench.  Games, we're only allowed one coach and one trainer on the bench.  This means we can only permit one parent per player per ice time. The parent is part of the screener.  When you log in to take the test, and a link to the test is everywhere in this website - its on this page at the top, its on the main page, anywhere you see "Digital  Health Screen - Click here."
This part is new for me but we have a series of people entered on our site for each player that might the ones  bringing the player to the event, moms-dads-grandparents-older siblings- etc.  If you have people not in your list, just email me and I can add them.

This is good for now.  I will see you all Saturday the 17th at 2:45 at the Memorial Centre.

Coach Pete
