Intermediate Ice Kats advance to LLFHL Championship Weekend
The Intermediate A Ice Kats played some of their best hockey to date as a team. This playoff series was a battle between the 2nd place Peterborough Ice Kats and the 3rd place Brampton Canadettes. These teams
traded wins all season long with only one goal separating them in most games. Peterborough hosted Brampton in game 1 and with a strong offensive team effort, the Ice Kats jumped out to an early lead in game 1. Brampton battled back hard but was not able to take the lead away from Peterborough during the game. The Ice Kats came out on top and defeated Brampton 6-4 in game one in the best of three playoff series. Peterborough traveled to Brampton for game 2 and they knew that Brampton would not go down without a fight. Once again Peterborough jumped out to an early lead and they never looked back. After 3 periods of play that saw many momentum shifts, the Ice Kats came out victorious with a 5-3 win and secured their place in the LLFHL Championship Weekend Finals.
