Midget A Kats Strike Gold in Kanata
The Peterborough Midget A Ice Kats have won back to back tournaments.
With a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Aurora Panthers, the Kats won the 35th Annual Kanata GHA Tournament this past weekend.
The Kats finished 3-0-1 in round robin play seeding them first overall. The semi final game was a tight back and forth game with Nepean. The Kats killed off a 5-3 in overtime just before Meg DeCarlo scored the winner with a laser to the top corner. Talia Flint opened the scoring for Peterborough in the final and Taylor Bartlett provided the game winner. The Kats ended the weekend with 19 goals for and only 4 against (thanks to the stellar goaltending tandem of Bryer Courneyea and Marisha Thompson). Peterborough also had the top four scorers in the tournament in Chelsea Campbell, Kari Lynde, Katelyn Buckton and Bartlett.
