The
Peterborough Ice Kats had a record haul in this past weekend’s 36th
Annual Ice Kat Tournament.
Peterborough, ON, December 4, 2016– The Peterborough Ice Kats had a banner weekend at their home tournament. 90 teams competed this weekend for titles in divisions from Novice to Senior. A record eight PGHA teams made finals in the weekend long tournament. Five teams won gold and three teams won silver medals. This is the most successful result for the PGHA in the history of the tournament
We are thrilled with how well our teams did at our home tournament. A lot of work goes into hosting and playing a tournament of this magnitude. We are proud of all our teams who competed this weekend. –Carole Wagner, PGHA President
The 36th edition of the Ice Kats tournament ran from Friday to Sunday in all local arenas including Douro and Warsaw arenas. The PGHA welcomed 90 teams to our area for the event.
Atom HL (Murray Red)- Silver – 5-0 vs Whitby
Atom A- GOLD – 1-0 vs. Bluewater
Peewee BB – GOLD – 2-0 vs. Lindsay
Bantam BB- Silver 3-0 vs. Cambridge
Bantam B – Silver 2-0 vs Ennismore
Midget BB- GOLD -2-1(OT) vs. West Northumberland
Intermediate A – GOLD – 3-1 vs. Brampton
Senior BB – GOLD- 2-1 vs. Timmins
The PGHA is one of the longest consecutively running female hockey associations. It offers a full House league program and 14 rep teams.
