Bantam BB Ice Kats Visit York University
Submitted By TH on Wednesday, February 4, 2015
On January 30, the Bantam BB Ice Kats were very excited to travel to York University, hosted by Dan Church, Head Coach of the York Lion's and former head coach of the Canadian Women's Hockey Team.

The day started with a dressing room tour.  Coach Church then talked with the girls about University life, what it takes to get their game to the next level and how they can accomplish their goals.

The girls then took to the ice and were put through drills by Coach Church.  The girls were thrilled to have one of the York players join them on the ice.  Megan was great with the girls, participating in the drills and showing them some of her skills!

After dinner, the girls watched the Lions defeat Laurentian by a score of 2-0.

It was a great experience for all the girls and their families to see the option Canadian University offers to our players.  Like Dan said, "playing university hockey is the closest option to playing professional hockey for women today".

Thank you to the Dan Church, Megan and the York Lions for a great day!
