I would like to
introduce myself, Patrick Sweeney, as the new President of Peterborough
Girls Hockey Association for the 2022-23 upcoming season.
Thank you to all who attended the AGM on June 13. We have a great group of executive officers, directors, and convenors this season and look forward to bringing a fun and successful season to all our members. Our 2021-22 season saw a lot of success within our rep programs, and we hope to build on that success in the coming season.
As your President, my goal is to grow the game for the female athletes in the area. Our objective is to create a strong development model through all of the age groups in both our house league and rep divisions; to create more interest for the sport; and to have more athletes join our association. We will be looking to implement mentorship programs for our younger and older athletes to create role models in our association and give our younger athletes an example to strive towards. We are confident that such a program would be beneficial to all age groups and assist in developing our athletes into well rounded individuals both on and off the ice.
I look forward to serving you over the next season and hope to bring new ideas and perspectives to the association.
