Update on POV Requrements
On Dec 9th, Dr. Thomas Piggott, the new Medical Officer of Health for Peterborough Public Health has issued an amendment to the Letter of Instruction for sports and recreation facilities.  This letter is being amended to include the following:

Effective 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2022, upon entry to the facility, all persons born in 2010 shall be granted a grace period of 12 weeks from their 12th birthday during which they must provide identification at the point of entry, but do not need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This is to allow a reasonable opportunity for their series of vaccination to be completed.

You can access the updated letter of instruction anytime on our Public Health Orders page, or by clicking here.

Also, as promised, PPH are completing evidence scans every month to determine whether the letter of instruction with the enhanced proof of vaccination (POV) requirement for sports and recreation facilities is still needed for our area. Our December scan of evidence is available here.  I also wanted to flag that this review of evidence showed that POV requirements for the 5-11 population will not be added at this time, but we are continuing to monitor the evidence on this item.
