Vaccine Passports in effect in arenas as of today
COVID Vaccine Update

In accordance with the OWHA and Peterborough Public Health Unit, the PGHA must comply with the vaccine passport mandate.

Effective today, all eligible volunteers, coaches, officials, and spectators 12 years of age and older must provide proof of vaccine to enter arenas in the City and County of Peterborough.

Eligible players between the ages of 12-18 years old are exempt.  This rule also applies to visiting teams, as well as their spectators.

Beginning at today’s ice times, all spectators 12+ must bring proof of being fully vaccinated and identification. Identification includes driver’s license, health card, birth certificate or passport. You will be required to show proof of your second dose > 14 days ago along with ID.

Receipts were emailed, or if have a green health card, you can look up your receipt on-line via the provincial portal. The PGHA will not be retaining copies of vaccination or medical exemption information, only acknowledging that they were witnessed. For all future ice times, please keep a copy of your digital or paper receipt on your person.

If you are part of a team, the COVID Representative will keep track of your declaration status for vaccination or exemption.  Speak to your team representative, whether they will be viewing your receipt each ice time or accepting a declaration of receipt after initial proof is verified.

The OWHA strongly encourages all who are eligible to get fully vaccinated and acknowledges that Public Health Units, municipalities, arenas, and facilities have the authority to be more restrictive. This may mean that OWHA players and teams may be able to practice or play in 1 facility but may not be permitted to enter other facilities without complying with different local or facility requirements. The best way to ensure access into a facility is to be fully vaccinated and carry proof and identification with you.   Please check each facilities requirement for proof of vaccination and capacity rules for players and spectators before your ice time.

If your eligible player is fully vaccinated, your team COVID Representative may choose to keep track of this in the event you play in a facility or region that does not observe the exemption for players.

Please be prepared at your next ice time, we don’t want to turn anyone away. We expect that any person involved with the PGHA whether it be a participant, volunteer, coach, or spectator be respectful and patient as we navigate these changes.  Harassment and/or bullying will not be tolerated.

We are asking everyone to arrive at their next ice time 30 minutes early so we can complete this and still enter the arena on time!

Please don’t hesitate to ask should you have questions.
