Updates on tryouts and pre tryout skills
Hello Ice Kat families!

I hope you have had an amazing summer thus far.

I just wanted to provide an update on where things are at for tryouts and the pre tryout skills that are fast approaching.

We have had several inquiries about this process and we have been working behind the scenes as a board to get things sorted out.

The most recent update from the OWHA was posted on our website last week, please review the details on that posting to be aware of the next steps.

As an organization, we have been communicating with all of you as best we can about the updates and changes that occur on a regular basis.

We did communicate several times that tryouts would not occur until AFTER LABOUR DAY weekend and we are moving forward with this decision. The OWHA did announce that tryouts could begin to take place as of August 13th, but we do not want to have kids or families put in the situation of changing summer plans or not being prepared for a tryout process after a prolonged period off the ice.

Therefore, we will be running PRE TRYOUT skills on a first come first serve basis for the three weeks of August 15-August 31. These are OPTIONAL and will be based on a sign up and pay format to secure your spot. Stay tuned to the website for the information and registration link to be posted soon.

TRYOUTS will begin AFTER LABOUR DAY and will run through the same process as usual for player release or permission to skate forms for those wishing to leave the PGHA and go elsewhere or those wishing to tryout for spots on PGHA teams. Our IMPORT POLICY will remain in place for the tryout and selection process.

A link for TRYOUTS and the form to pay for your PLAYER PASSPORT to tryout will also be posted shortly.

We are still uncertain about numbers on ice for tryouts etc. but we will be working with the city on this, and Covid protocols remain in place for screening etc.

Tryouts may be different as far as the number of sessions on ice etc but we are grateful for the opportunity to hold them and to get the girls back on the ice.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all GROW through these times together.

We are so excited to see the Ice Kats back in action playing the sport they love so much.
