An Update from the PGHA Executive January 2021
Hello to all of the Ice Kat Families, I hope you are all doing well, and you are finding ways to keep active, healthy and happy during these crazy times.

I just wanted to reach out and check in and let you know that your PGHA Executive Board has continued to meet online during these challenging times and discuss the program and the options moving forward.

Of course, no one could have predicted that we would be in the situation we have faced as a society for the past year, nor moving from a Yellow Categorization where we were smooth sailing with our program from August right through to the December break, and then being put into a lockdown scenario. We had hoped to keep our program going right through until March, but it didn’t end up working out that way.

Times like this often call for a need for adaptability, growth and change and we have worked to pivot as best we can and to provide opportunities in our programming that allowed the girls to be out there on the ice, doing what they love. We worked within the provincial and recommended governing sport body guidelines to adapt with reimagined training, practices and 4 on 4 modified game play.

As of now, you are all fully aware that our season is on hold until the provincial wide lockdown is lifted. We do not know what the next few weeks will hold for us or when we may be able to get back on the ice, but we are hopeful that the time will come where we will see a return to practices and modified game play. As soon as we know anything, we will keep you informed on the return to play protocol.

We want you to know that the PGHA is working diligently behind the scenes with the city, the PHU and the OWHA and we are keeping our lines of communication open and we will be prepared to return if or when we get the green light to do so.

I would like to thank all of our board members, players, coaches, trainers, managers and volunteers for everything you have done to make the PGHA the strong organization that it is today.

Just like you we all can’t wait to be back in the arena cheering on the Ice Kats and seeing the players smiling, working hard and having FUN!

Please reach out with any questions or feedback you may have.

All the best,
