Congratulations Kaitlyn!
The PGHA Ice Kats had a slogan for years that said something like, “because its about more than just the game” I think about that slogan my friend and Peterborough Sports Hall of Famer, Rosemary Powers wrote as the long-time leader of the Ice Kats organization. As a hockey mom, I see it now. I see the importance of looking beyond “the game” when raising all athletes in sports.
We are all aware that participating in sport develops fitness, and skills but we often forget how sport also develops leaders, work ethic, confidence, resiliency, and community minded people.
This week the U13AA Ice Kats would like to recognize Kaitlyn Dutrisac for her award-winning essay in the National Remembrance Day Literary contest.
