GOLD at Clarington Applefest!!
The Peterborough Ice Kats Peewee A team competed in Clarington Applefest, from October 18th to 20th, their section tournament of the season.  Having narrowly missed a gold medal in their first tournament, they were on a mission!

They opened the tournament with a 5-2 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Jr. Greyhounds in the first game.  The girls then blanked the Kemptville Storm 5-0 in the 2nd game and shut out the Cold Creek Comets 1-0 in the third game.  This put the team first overall after round robin play.  Finishing first overall earned them a bye to the semifinals.

In the semifinal game, the Peewee A Ice Kats shut out the Scarborough Sharks 3-0, advancing to the finals.  The team took on the Whitby Wolves in the championship game,  where they had a strong finish to the tournament, winning 4-1!

What a great showing by the team!  Congratulations to all the players and coaches on such a successful tournament.  A special shout out to the goaltender Brea, who only let 3 goals past her the entire tournament!
