3 and 0 to start the season
The Peterborough Midget B Ice Kats have another win under there belt.The Girls won both games of a home at home series. The Girls played well in both their games but the team effort shon through in the second Game

The Girls controlled the play in the first 5 minutes of the game, making sure that we stayed in the opposing end for the entire 5 min. leading into the 6 minute we entered the Lindsay zone where Marissa Porter secured the puck behind the net. Moving to the front she dropped it for Elizabeth Semlitch which drew the Lindsay player in. Elizabeth dropped it back to Marissa, who shot and rung the puck off the post.With Face off to the right of the Lindsay goalie. Elizabeth Semlitch drew the puck back where the defense shot the puck on the net, where off the rebound Elizabeth Semlitch drove it to the back of the net.

The Kats took a stronger start in the first two minutes of the second,moving the puck into the Lindsay zone. Lindsay pushed back and moved the puck into our zone challenging our Defense to move the puck out , which they did on several occasions. With 1:50 left in the period Victoria Lemaire carried the puck into the nuetral zone, and threw the puck deep into the  into the corner for Marissa porter. She drove the net but was stopped on the way there. the puck was moved out to the blue line where Maria Conlin threw the puck back at the net, where Natasha Weikmann redirected it passed the goalie to make the score 2-0.

Lindsay came on strong in the third knowing that they were two goals away from tieing things up But the Kats were ready for them allowiong only 1 shot on net in the first 5 minutes.the girls moved the puck into the Lindsay zone off of an off side when Elizabeth Semlitch won the draw, she dropped the puck back to Megan Clinton who shot the puck toward the net. The puck was deflected off the schin pads of one of the Lindsay players right onto Alex Manley's stick. She made no mistake, with an amazing toe drag, she used the Lindsay defense as a screen putting the puck into the back of the net.

With 3 minutes left, we unfortunately spent all of it in our zone . With time ticking down we could not get the puck out.The puck was shot in on Mercedes who came up with a great save at the buzzer making the final score 3-0 Kats.
