Peterborough Midget B's Bring Home Silver at the Fall Classic
Sept 19 to 21st was an outstanding weekend for the Ice Kats Midget B's in Oshawa. This was there first big challenge of the year and they came prepared to do battle..

The Ice Kats started by winning both games on the first day and splitting the two on the Saturday.This record took them to the quarter finals against a team that they met in the regular round robin Grand River. The Ice Kats purserveared and again beat them by the score of 2-1 .Next Challenge was meeting Gloucester in the Semi finals and went up early with a score of 3-1 however Gloucester battled back scored in the middle of the third to close the gap to make it a one goal game . The Ice Kats held them off to win the Semi Final game and get to the finals at 1:45 against Cornwall.

Game 7 and Cornwall score 2 minutes into the game . the Ice Kats battled back to tie the game in the second, taking this score into the start of the third. With a little over 4 minutes left, Cornwall scored, going a head by the score of 2-1. The Ice Kats battled hard and with 1:38 left in the game they pulled there goalie.With an extra skater on the ice and with 38 seconds left in the game, Peterborough tied the game, taking them into an 5 minute sudden death overtime.
Entering the overtime The Ice Kats had three early chances and with 2:30 left in the overtime Cornwall gained control and scored to win the game 3-2.
John Gibson the Coach, along with the entire Coaching staff were more than please by the Teams performance during every game of the Tournament. They were impressed with there competitive play throughout the entire tournament.The Peterborough Ice Kats Midget B's Won the Silver, making this an outstanding weekend for the team and a great start to the season.
