Peterborough Midget 'A' Icekats split a pair
The Peterborough Napa Autoparts Midget 'A' Icekats traveled to Pickering on Saturday to face the Durham West Lightning. After a scoreless first period, Peterborough struck first when Carson Brown scored midway through the 2nd period, assisted by Sierra Smith. Durham West, however, scored twice late in the 2nd and scored 2 more in the 3rd, defeating Peterborough 4-1.The Midget 'A' Icekats returned to Peterborough to face the Oshawa Lady Generals at the Kinsmen arena on Sunday night, and were able to bounce back with a 3-1 win. Logan Buckton opened the scoring in the 2nd, assisted by Lauren O'Neill-Hawthorne. Carson Brown scored unassisted late in the 2nd period and she than assisted Brooke Sanders goal in the third, giving Peterborough a 3-0 lead. Oshawa scored with less than 7 minutes to go in the 3rd, spoiling Kelsey Preston's shutout bid.
